As a designer favourite of celebrities from Rihanna to Lady Gaga and Cindy Crawford, Melissa Odabash’s swimwear usually retails in the bracket of $250 (Rs 14,668 approx) and above.
Which is why the designer’s debut in India is especially auspicious, since her trademark miniscule bikinis will be sold on Koovs.com starting at a mere Rs 895.
The capsule collection features 20 pieces and is packed with luscious jewel tones that the designer drew from her travels to India, and Odabash hints at another capsule collection coming up in her exclusive video for Vogue.
“The key to the collection is jewel colours like ruby reds and emerald greens… Everything that I can’t usually do. My favourite pieces are the embellished ones because those are the most fun to design,” she says, name-checking the emerald monokini with fringe detailing. 
The collection also features tunics that pull double duty as both standalone garments and cover-ups, which Odabash would like you to “throw on a pair of heels and wear to a party.”
