Diana Orving Stockholm Fashion Week S/S 2013

Fifty shades of grey for Diana Orving’s next summer. Not an overwhelming luxurious nymph: this crepuscular creature is looking for herself out in the colors of a Swedish decadent sky – a melancholic yet romantic  soul collapsing in a dusky mix of shades: pearl white, sand, purple, metallic, black.
Diana Orving’s distinctive design is characterized by layers, volume and draped fabrics. The collection is genuinely inspired from the ultimate simplicity and abstract purity of geometrical shapes such as the rectangle, the square and the circle, transformed into beautiful advanced angles and cuts by folding, draping and twisting the textures.
The counterpart to this Euclidian perfection is the lack of symmetry in the evening gowns:  art, dance and movements inspire the multi-layered long outfits in the finale, featuring a relaxed, effortless elegance.
